Daniel & Emily Mitchell

Daniel & Emily Mitchell met Jesus, and each other, as students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Daniel graduated in 2019 with a degree in Nutrition, Exercise, & Health Science, was a student manager for the Nebraska Basketball program, was an avid weightlifter, and was president of the UNL Cru Campus ministry. Emily graduated in 2018 with a degree in Management & Entrepreneurship, was an RA, and ran her own calligraphy business while in college. Both Daniel & Emily were transformed from nominal Christians to mulitplying disciples through the ministry of Cru and San Diego Summer Mission, where they both felt a call to serve Jesus vocationally. Daniel responded to that call by joining staff with Cru’s High School Ministry after graduation, and Emily responded by getting a seminary degree and taking part in a 2-year residency program at Christ Community Church in Omaha, NE. After getting married in 2020, the Mitchells sought out an arena to minister as a unit, and invested 2 years working for Christ Community Church College Ministry, helping the local church reach college students for Jesus on campus. After having their son Foster, Daniel & Emily felt God was calling them to something different, where they could spend their best hours of ministry focusing on evangelism & discipleship, and live as a family on mission. This led them to Athletes in Action, which Daniel’s mom described as “what Daniel was designed for”. God led the Mitchell family to San Antonio, Texas in late 2023, and now they are trusting the Lord to use them to make disciples of college athletes across multiple campuses in the San Antonio area. The Mitchells love deep conversation, a good homemade latte, the great outdoors, and renovating houses.
